Landoway Outdoor in Bundaberg approached Design House seeking a major rebrand as they have renamed their existing company to JAM Outdoor.
Being one of the largest outdoor advertising companies in Queensland with over 350 + billboards we developed a website so that potential clients could not only view JAM’s professionalism but the location of their sites statewide.

We started with a logo design and carried that through into business cards, letterheads, with comp slips & finally the website development.

Our company has just undergone a major rebranding from Landoway Pty Ltd to JAM Outdoor.  As a large regional Queensland billboard company, we felt our growth and professionalism required a memorable and contemporary name to match our ethos.  This has not been a simple process, as all our communications required a name change along with our new logo and colours.  We have also used the opportunity to launch a new website, JAM Outdoor.com.au.  Design House have managed the process, navigating across all areas involved, ensuring that we keep on track by following the process through to completion. It is not an easy journey to change your name when you are presenting your company across different mediums each having their own issues in presentation.  What stands out on a website compared to the tag on a billboard is very different.  Jeanette has been very flexible and responsive to our specific requirements producing what we believe is a simple and effective logo which is now integrated across all our communication channels. Our website is eye-catching and interactive providing our customers with intuitive navigation that shows all our available sites. This is no mean feat considering the volume of information on all our sites. Now our customers can quickly see photos of available sites in their areas along with tips and examples of signs that have been designed and are successful for our customers.

I’ve decided to finally wind down from the festive season and have decided February is the month to do it by participating in Feb Fast, one month without alcohol!!!

What is FebFast?

FebFast is a charity that is now in its third year of operation.

We work to reduce the impact of alcohol and other drugs on young Australians by raising funds to support organisations working in research, prevention and service delivery concerning alcohol and other drugs use by young people.

We conduct a national education, awareness and fundraising campaign that invites people to sacrifice their alcohol consumption during February, and at the same time raise funds to support youth alcohol and other drug services.

Over the past two years we have seen more than 3,500 people take up the FebFast challenge to give up the grog for amonth. Collectively these people have raised more than $700,000 to support our cause

This is going to be hard work, so lucky for me I’m very good at achieving anything that is hard work + you can always buy a ‘Time Out’ (phew takes the pressure off a little)!!

Well I can already tell this is going to be a very long month!

I’m on day 4 without an alcoholic beverage and I’m quite surprised I haven’t got the shakes yet.
It’s strange, when you can’t have a beer at the end of the day; you tend to think about beer all day!!
I’m certainly craving a Pure Blonde!

I hope everyone had an Awesome Christmas and New Years filled with lots of FUN & LOVE!!!
I did and found a few spare minutes to move my office, ready for a HUGE 2010!!!!

I also had to implement a rapid change to my staff structure to maintain the integrity, honesty and professional business ethic’s that my clients are accustomed to and are paramount to the core of my business and personal principles.

You may notice the client’s seat (pictured here) may have also changed alittle… I always aim to make sure my clients experience with Design House is a prompt, creative, pain free & enjoyable one!

Expressions of Interest – Freelance Web Development Position

If you have a significant knowledge and understanding of PHP & MySQL, Linux system administration or experience in XHTML, HTML 4.0 and CSS, you may be suitable as a web developer or I.T. assistant at Design House. It would be an advantage to have knowledge or skills in:

• Codeigniter
• Macromedia Flash
• AJAX / Javascript / jQuery

A minimum of three years industry experiece is preferred.

Applying the principles of Best Practice, we wish to stress that we are doing everything possible to secure your confidential information.
Please note over the next week there may be some unavoidable delays or minor hick-ups while our security systems are modified and upgraded.

Recently I completed a Buddha Bootcamp (Calm Abiding Meditation Course) with Choeying Dolma a Buddhist nun who resides in Hervey Bay. I found the whole experience so profoundly uplifting and learnt so many new tools to handle the pain and suffering we experience in our lives that I felt compelled to donate my time and services of Design House to market Choeying. (valued at $3,000 + including logo, business card & website design etc …. I have never seen such a happy and excited nun as what Choeying was at her website lesson!!) 
Hhmmm could be some good karma coming my way…

I feel everybody in the community should have the opportunity to experience the benefits of meditation and don’t be confused it is not a relaxing experience by any means. By the end of my full weekend retreat I was physically and mentally spent! You really have to go along yourself to experience it as it is so deep.

Choeying teachings also opens our eyes to show compassion to others, we realise that everyone is deluded and suffering in their own way so we mustn’t take the hurt they cause us personally, ‘it is their karma and afflictions not them’…. please click here to find out more on the Sanctuary and visit the website.
